Pork chops are a staple at any dinner party. Many people believe the best ones are, of course, the classic version, breaded and served with potatoes and salad (or even better, with fried cabbage).
But how long can you eat cutlets prepared the same way? When you’re tired of traditional pork chops, it’s time to experiment in the kitchen. Forget the usual breadcrumbs, flour, and egg coating. We’ve got something for you that will be a hit at every party and family gathering. See how to prepare them.
Recipe for Pork Chops in Puff Pastry
. The secret to these cutlets is puff pastry. Instead of breading the meat, simply bake it in it. Making your own puff pastry is quite time-consuming, but fortunately, you can find this inexpensive product in any supermarket these days. Simply unroll the pastry, arrange the seasoned cutlets, roll them up, and pop them in the oven. Use the recipe below:
Ingredients:
1 kilogram of pork loin
200 g raw smoked bacon (optional)
2 packages of ready-made puff pastry
1 egg
mustard
sun
pepper
Preparation:
Wash and dry the pork loin. Then cut it into slices – you should get 8 to 10 cutlets from one kilogram of meat.
Pound each slice with a meat mallet (don’t forget to cover the meat with foil – this will save you cleanup). Season with salt and pepper.
Next, spread mustard over the meat. The type depends on your taste preferences. We highly recommend using French mustard in this recipe.
Slice the bacon into thin slices. Place two of them on each cutlet.
Lay out the puff pastry. Place the cutlets on one sheet and cover them with the other.
Pinch the dough together, then use a sharp knife to cut out the patties. Don’t forget to leave a little extra dough around the edges to seal them. Finally, embellish the edges of the envelopes with a fork.
Beat the egg in a bowl. Brush each cutlet with the batter.
Place the prepared pork chops on a baking sheet lined with baking paper. Place in an oven preheated to 220 degrees Celsius and bake for 15 minutes. Enjoy!
